Bidstrup forest i a part of The national park Skjoldungelandet who includes the fjord landscape in and around Roskilde Fjord, with its surrounding marshes, reed beds, lakes and lagoons, a very important international breeding and resting area for waterfowl. The park also includes the large state forest and the former royal forests by Bidstrup, who Zealand’s second largest forest area. About 60% of the land area is protected.
